Join me, December 5th, 12:00 - 1:00pm at the Newnan Carnegie Library for a talk on the life and work of Jennie Manget Logan. Born in Marietta, with two brothers who settled in Newnan, Jennie spent many years as a nurse abroad. In 1918, she and her physician husband were called from their medical missionary work in China to Red Cross service for the American Expeditionary Forces. In one year, she went from warlord ruled China to winter in Siberian Russia to Europe with the Czechoslovak Legion to a summer in Newnan and back to China. Through it all – war, disease and personal tragedy – Jennie displayed remarkable determination and resilience.
